Hello friend. We are writing today to share our studio’s strategy to combat Corona Virus (COVID-19) in our photography studio.
Being that our client’s bestow on us the gift of spending time with their brand new babies, children, pregnant mamas, and families, we want you to know we are not taking the current climate of health in Snohomish County lightly. We also have our own young children, some with chronic health issues, and family at home to think of. One of the photographers in our space is currently pregnant.
Please know that we will do the same to protect you and your loved ones
as we will do for our own.
Decision makers in our studio are keeping apprised of updates and changes via trusted news outlets and the CDC. We have determined our current course of action to disinfect and mitigate disease transmission as thoroughly as possible utilizing the CDC’s guidelines for prevention and treatment and are also taking steps beyond what is currently suggested in order to protect you, your babies, and our own families.
current steps
Tomorrow, March 4, 2020, we will have a thorough, top-to-bottom disinfection cleaning in order to give us a baseline of disinfection to work from. This will include wiping down every hard surface with bleach solution with a 10 minute contact time, liberal use of Lysol on soft/upholstered surfaces, and extra attention to high touch and traffic areas such as doorknobs, light switches, counters, and bathroom. We will also leave a diffuser running with essential oils known for their anti-microbial properties. We will wipe down our cameras and studio gear with alcohol wipes.
We will continue with our longstanding policy of wiping down and/or laundering every single item we use during a session. For newborns, this means a LOT of laundry but it is a step we are more than willing to take to ensure you and your baby’s health.
going forward
The studio will be thoroughly disinfected after every session using the bleach solutions and cleaners as recommended by the CDC. We will ensure to pay special attention to high touch/traffic areas.
Though we love providing light snacks, coffee, and beverages to our clients, we will be temporarily suspending this amenity in order to further protect your health. Please plan on bringing any beverages/snacks you or your family may require.
During your session
When you arrive at the studio, we request that everyone aside of small infants thoroughly wash their hands. We will also wash our hands when we arrive to the studio and again after you arrive. Should we cough/sneeze/use the restroom/etc mid-shoot, we will use hand sanitizer or wash our hands. We ask that you do the same and help your children to do so as well.
We are instituting a ‘no shoes’ policy. When you arrive, if reasonable, please remove your shoes and leave near the suite door. We will also be removing the shoes we arrive to the studio in and switching them out for ‘studio shoes’ (spoiler alert: it’s new slippers, guys!).
Should you wish us to wear a N95 rated mask, we are happy to do so during the entirety of your session.
Reschedules and Cancellations
Should you, your family member, or anyone close you come in contact with start to exhibit the symptoms of Corona Virus, please contact us by email, text, Facebook, Instagram, or phone to reschedule your session. We promise to make it work and would rather play it as safe as possible.
If we, our families, or close loved ones get sick, we will notify you ASAP. For newborn sessions, due to their time sensitivity, we may offer you a referral to another local, trusted newborn photographer.
We hope sharing this information offers you peace of mind in retaining our services for all your most important photography needs. After all, time isn’t stopping for Corona Virus and that mama will still give birth and those babies will still grow. Don’t let fear make you miss out on some of the sweetest, most cherished highlights of your life. We’re here for you!
