Human Video
Church service and all the tears
While in Cuba, our team spent the majority of our time in the small town of Potrerillo which is about 4-5 hours outside of Havana. This small town of about three thousand is where we built a home for a family, where we broke bread together, and where we made friends. On our last evening in the town, we attended church service in a humble building with a heartwarming crowd. Little did we know that the little girls in that community had put together something very special for our team… a human video.
Now, not being one who was raised up in the church when these human videos were all the rage, I really had no idea what to expect. I didn’t expect the drama, or the attention to detail by girls as young as four, or all the emotion…. Or the tears. I definitely didn’t expect them.
A human video is basically a theatrical dance set to music. Describing what we saw like that however seems so devoid of all the feeling and there were SO MANY FEELINGS. The song for this human video was in Spanish, so this American was unable to follow the majority of the words but due to the artistry of these little girls, I knew the story.
It was the story of Jesus’ death and resurrection and our victory in Him.
…not a dry eye in the house, friends. Not one.
