Golden Hour

What is the golden hour, you may be asking? The golden hour is about one hour prior to sunset; the sun is sinking low in the sky casting a warm, hazy light over the landscape. It is, hands down, my favorite time of the day to photograph and the late summer/fall golden hour is the best all year.

Last Friday, I met up with Rachael and her husband Mike to celebrate the impending arrival of their son. We spent about an hour together and laughed pretty much all the way through the entire session — just how I like it! I have an extra big sneak peek for them this afternoon and then I am off to photograph another family tonight during golden hour. Should be perfect.
