I feel time passing.
February 10, 2012 marks the first day in a year of days mourning the impending passing of my 20s. Today, I turned 29. In 366 days (leap year!) I will hit 30. THIRTY.
Laughing are you? Go right ahead. I’m usually the youngest amongst most of my friends, colleagues and peers (since I am SO mature and all) so the likeliness that YOU, dear reader, are over the 30 hill is quite possible. Yuck it up! I still have a year’s worth of time to spend in my youth.
And I plan to make it a grand, grand year. This is the year I pledge to my husband, my children, and myself to have 366 adventures.
Less work, more play. Less my way, more His way. Less time in front of the computer and on Facebook and more time face-to-face. Less naps, more fun. Less TV and more art projects. Less time thinking up time occupying activities for the kids so I can sneak in an email or twenty and more time outside in the dirt and fresh air. Less distraction, more love. Less fast food, more real food. Less excuses, more action. Less ‘nos’ and more ‘yeses’. Less yelling, more tenderness. Less bickering, sarcasm and cursing and more thoughtfulness.
Less biding my time and more appreciating every single day with fun… an adventure.
It won’t always be of grand scale, or messy, or original. But it will be full of love and better than an hour of Netflix. I hope to share with you daily, but possibly weekly, our daily adventure. Sometimes just an image, no words. Maybe an Instagram or iPhone image. Maybe a rambling story full of images or a drawing. We’ll see where the adventure takes us.
